Why you should back up your iPod onto iTunes
Posted on 24. Sep, 2010
There are very few things more annoying to an iPod user than finding out that they have lost their music collection. It may have happened when the iPod got damaged, or maybe there was a problem with your computer or with iTunes, and you now find yourself without access to any of your music collection. There were probably countless songs bought of iTunes, or albums that had been painstakingly copied over from the original CDs, but all that hard work is for nothing and you have to start the process over again. It’s a major pain, right? Well, this type of scenario doesn’t have to happen to you and can easily be avoided when you transfer music from iPod to iTunes.
For the vast majority of people, the one time when they finally realise they should really back up their collection and transfer music from iPod to iTunes is the exact moment when something happens to their iPod and suddenly it has become too late for them. But you need not be one of those unfortunate people; you can prevent it by taking a little time to plan ahead and prevent any such disasters from striking your music collection.
When you transfer music from iPod to iTunes you give yourself a sense of security. You know that even if something terrible and unforeseen does happen to your iPod, all is not lost for you. You still have your whole music collection at your fingertips and can access it easily though your computer. If, in the worst case scenario, the contents of your iPod were wiped, you would just have to connect it to your computer, synch the iPod up with iTunes and after a few minutes it would be as good as new and loaded with your whole music collection once more.
Imagine you were in a situation where you had to start from scratch with your CD collection, copying each one onto iTunes one by one, entering the track information over and over. The time it would take and the hassle it would cause would really not be worth it. This is why it’s so important to transfer music from iPod to iTunes. It might take up a couple of minutes of your time now but you’ll be so glad that you did it if the worst does ever happen.
